The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) assumes responsibility for management of assets when an individual or estate becomes a client. The PGT's fiduciary role requires that investment duties are performed with the care, skill, diligence and judgment that a prudent investor would use when making investment decisions.
The PGT's investment goals include investing for the benefit of clients by meeting their investment management goals prudently while achieving good returns at a reasonable cost. The PGT is assisted by an Investment Advisory Committee comprising both internal and external members which advise on investment policy, strategy and tactics.
Clients' funds are invested in one or a combination of the following PGT pooled investment funds:
In exceptional circumstances, client funds are invested with a Public Guardian and Trustee contracted discretionary investment manager, contracted broker or in an external brokerage account.
Clients who would like information about their funds should contact their Case Manager, Guardianship and Trust Officer or Estate Administrator. Click here for contact information.
