A litigation guardian is a person who has the authority to instruct legal counsel throughout a litigation. Litigation is the act, process or practice of settling a dispute in a court of law. If the parent or guardian or someone else cannot act as litigation guardian, the Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) may take on that role as per section 7 of the Public Guardian and Trustee Act.
